The Indonesian Women's National Football Team squad was introduced to the public by the General Chair of the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI), Mochamad Iriwan to coincide with the commemoration of World Women's Day which falls on March 8, 2021 at the G GBK Football Field. This introductory and training activity was attended by the Minister of Youth and Sports, the Minister of Women Empowerment and Child Protection, the General Chairperson of the Central KONI, the General Chairperson of the PSSI, and the Main Director of the Bung Karno Gelora Complex Management Center.
A total of 38 players were included in the selection held by PSSI from March 8 to 31, 2021 which will take place at the G GBK Football Field. In addition, the Women's Football National Training Center is also a preparation for the 2021 Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) which will be held in Hanoi, Vietnam.
The Minister of Youth and Sports and the Chairperson of the PSSI stated that the Indonesian Women's National Team had the opportunity and hoped that achievements could also be made in the upcoming 2021 SEA Games.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection expressed his appreciation for this activity, especially the introduction of the Indonesian National Women's Football Team which was held to coincide with the commemoration of World Women's Day, in which the existence of the Indonesian Women's National Team is clear evidence of the existence of gender equality in Indonesia. “If we look at female footballers, of course we are quite proud, especially since the potential for female footballers is wide open.
