The Indonesian Open 2019 Championship was again held at the Istora Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) on 16-21 July 2019. Since the year 1961 Istora GBK has been a witness
the badminton world carved achievements on the podium of the Badminton World Champion.

Indonesia Open 2019 is one of the world's prestigious championships held in a series of BWF World Super 1000 activities organized by the world badminton federation (Badminton World Federation / BWF).

The championship was attended by players who were ranked in the 32 of the world in each category namely male individuals, female individuals, men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles. In addition to fighting for the title, the players also have the opportunity to gain points related to the struggle for tickets or qualifications for the 2020 Olympics which will take place in Tokyo, Japan. More than 230 people from 20 attended the show in this championship.

With a total prize of USD 1,250,000, equivalent to Rp. 17.59 billion rupiah, Indonesia Open 2019 occupies the top position of the prize acquisition compared to the Yonex All England Open 2019 championship and Victor China Open 2019 which has a total prize of USD 1,000,000 or equivalent to Rp. 14,09 billion rupiah.

Raising the concept of sportainment, Indonesia Open 2019 not only offers performances of world badminton players competing in the arena but also a variety of entertainment and art activities that combine with each other. Istora GBK is decorated with various badminton-themed ornaments, making this venue a friendly badminton palace for both adult and children visitors. Visitors can do various activities such as taking photos on Instagram sites, enjoying a variety of culinary in the arena food festival, relaxing in relax zone and playing in the children's playground. For the first time in Indonesia Open 2019, thick Indonesian culture is represented through batik clothing used by match-leading referees and Javanese lurik clothing complete with blangkon as a head covering worn by line judges, further strengthening Indonesia's diverse culture.
