The Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI) held an activity titled, "Olympic Movement In Action" on 2 August 2019 at the Gelora Bung Karno Plaza (GBK). The activity opened by the Chairperson of the KOI was attended by KOI Managers, athletes, students and students. In his remarks, Erick Thohir, General Chair of KOI, stated that "When we are ready to compete, especially in the Olympics, that means we are ready to play a role. We must be able to become champions and make the nation proud. If we are not ready to participate in the competition, do not blame other nations who can take our role. The most important thing is that the young generation must be able to compete in a healthy manner. "
Through this activity, it is expected that the younger generation can pursue it as well as score achievements in a sport that is in accordance with their respective interests. In the future, we want this nation to continue to produce athletes who can make Indonesia famous on the international stage, especially through the Olympics.
Last year, Indonesia has succeeded in hosting the XVIII Asian Games. In the future, Indonesia aspires to be able to host the upcoming 2032 Olympics.
The Olympic Movement In Action activities featured various stands from sports including karate, taekwondo, rowing, badminton, archery, shooting, tennis, wall climbing, gymnastics, hockey, golf, jetskiing, and several other sports including e-sports. The visitors not only saw but they could also try directly under the guidance of each athlete at each sports stand.
In addition, there is also an organization stand that handles training and special sports competitions for the mentally disabled, namely Special Olympics Indonesia (SOINA).
In the future, the Olympic Movement In Action activities will be held regularly to socialize and ignite the Olympic spirit.
